Grand Prix Trial @ All Magic Shops

There will be a GP in KL 2010 March, hence the coming of GP Trials is in all the magic stores now. People are trying to get 3 byes in GP KL. That's a lot of Byes in a Tournament. You just have to win 3 more rounds to get into top 8 and that's freaking easier than playing 6 games to win.

The latest GPT held in Eternal Magic was won by Hari by bribing his whole way up to the top. It's worth it to do so, by giving out the booster and win a 3 byes. Man, I will want to do that too...

Casual Deck Testing @ Comics Mart

I was testing my esper control deck with a person's turbo fog, which was modified with silence. The deck works wonderful with silence in play. Almost can be used as a counter spells and a phish to cast to protect your combos.

He played really well with that deck. Any aggro deck will have to deal as much life as possible, else they will get killed when the combo is out. It is also more stable against control because of the silence which acts as a bait to bait the counters out.

Great deck. Shall make one if I have the money to do so. Almost got all the cards :D.

FNM @ 5 Nov 2009 @ Eternal Magic

Today was the suckiest FNM I have. I lose to a White Weenie for nothing. Totally Landscrewed...!!!
That's the only game I lose to. Other than that, nothing much to talk about, the last 2 games that I go against are fun deck... Well, at least I win 2 games out of 3.

GameDay @ CCE @ 31 Oct 2009

Today is the great day for magic players who have build their deck after the release of Zendikar.
GameDay that features promo cards and gooood prices to be win.

There is 3 GameDay in town. CCE, Eternal Magic and Decards.

I was broke at the end of the month, hence, I went to CCE free entry fees GameDay. With the prices of an Foil DCI Emeria Angel, it attracted me with the RM0 entry fees.

I went to the GameDay with the same deck I build.
Slightly modify the sideboard with Thought Hemorrhage and Pithing Needle.
I would say, it was the worst play ever.

First Game I fight against - Pure Green Aggro which it is the worst green I've seen.
I made a mistake of not blocking the only creature he have... and he killed me with 3 Giant Growth and 1 Primal Bellow. It was a sooo stupid mistake. Dang.
Lose 1-2

Second Game I fought against - Warp World Landfall deck.
Frankly speaking, I didn't got my sideboard card. I sideboard Thought Hemorrhage and I didn't get any freaking thing!!!!!
Lose 0-2

Third Game is an easy game - Mono White Weenie. A deck that I can easily win even with the pro black creatures.
Win 2-1

Fourth Game is a Jund Aggro deck. Lose to it because of landscrew and stupid opening hand. Should have mulligan to the best hand.
Lose 1-2

Last Game would be against Esper Control deck. A deck that almost kill me with his Day of Judgement. But I manage to control the board with my removals using Thought Hemorrhage, Duress and Blightning.
Win 2-1

I realise that my vampire deck is kinda slow in the sense that it can't really get into the game if there's no 5 mana in play. and I should have put only one creature each turn so that he can't kill all my creatures.

The winner for Eternal Magic game day was a pure red aggro deck with creatures that have trample and haste. That was a freaking aggro that will kill almost any deck without removals.

The funniest part for the whole GameDay is the top 8. All of them want the booster and end up rolling dice to lose :D hahaha

FNM @ Eternal Magic @ 21 Oct 2009

Yesterday was the first time that I had 3 wins in an FNM. My deck is a vampire control deck

My deck list.

Lands
12x Swamp
3x Mountain
4x Akoum Refuge
4x Terramorphic Expanse

Spells
2x Quest of the Gravelord
1x Duress
1x Terminate
4x Lightning Bolt
4x Sign in Blood
2x Consume Spirit
2x Blightning
2x Bituminous Blast

Creatures
1x Malakir Bloodwitch
4x Vampire Hexmage
4x Gatekeeper of Malakir
4x Tendrils Corruption
4x Vampire Nocturnus
2x Vampire Nighthawk

The first game that I go against is Mirror Vampire Aggro Deck.
Round 1 - He land screw
Round 2 - I land screw.
Round 3 - His battlefield is clear and his hand is empty, I win him by vampire nocturnus. He didn't top deck any good removals

The second game that I fight is a White Weenie Aggro Deck.
Round 1 - I'm in control with my removals.
Round 2 - Both of us SideBoard pro black and pro white creatures. Early of the game I have 2 black knight in play and reduce his life to only 12. He manage to clear the board with Day of Judgment and cast Conqueror's Pledge and Honor of Pure. I'm dead. hehe

Round 3 - My pro white Black Knight come into play earlier than his White Knight or any pro white creatures. I took control the whole board with my removals.

The third game is against Aggro White Red Deck. Focusing on Landfall.
Round 1 and 2 win easily because I manage to stall his tempo with my removals and manage to drag the game to middle game. Hence my creatures are bigger without the landfall and easily beat with and clear his board with my removals.

My deck weakness would be against control deck. Hence, my sideboard that I put is :
3x Duress
3x Black Knight
2x Bloodchief Ascension
1x Deathmark
2x Disfigure
1x Hideeous End
3x Rise from the Grave
